Having unsightly body hair is a common problem for both women and men.

For years people have gone through many painstaking solutions to rid the body of unwanted hair only to achieve minimal results. Now imagine not having to shave, tweeze, or wax for longer periods of time. With our Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) hair reduction system, we can turn your dreams into reality.

How does it work?

Our hair removal system emits pulses of light into the skin. Pigment in the hair absorbs that light and converts it into heat. The heat causes the hair to loosen and disables the cells that are responsible for hair growth. With several regimented treatments, you can achieve permanent hair reduction.

How many treatments would I need?

Hair follicles exist in three different cycles--Anagen (Growing), Catagen (Intermediate), and Telogen (Shedding). At any given time, there are follicles in each of the cycles in the skin. The follicle is most susceptible to treatment during the Anagen phase. Typically, 4-6 treatments about a month apart are needed to ensure that all follicles are treated when they are vulnerable. Since each person is different, treatment results vary. Because of this individual variation and even differences in the hair growth on different parts of the body, more or fewer treatments may be needed.

How long do the treatments take?

Depending on the body area being treated, it can take from 15 minutes (small areas such as upper lips or underarms) to an hour or more (large areas such as legs or back). Our IPL treatment window is much larger than most lasers. This spreads light over a wider area of skin and allows faster coverage of the skin and quicker treatments as a result.

Does it work on all colors and types of hair?

Unfortunately, the technology works best with black to light brown coarse hairs. Light interacts with the pigment in the hair and the hair follicle. Blonde, red, and white/grey hairs have little pigment for the light to heat. Because coarse hairs are larger, they naturally contain more pigment than the finer or “peach fuzz” hairs.
